Welcome to the Day of Caring
LIVE UNITED. The United Way of Greater Lorain County mantra is about the power of unity. It's about working together to bolster the viability of our residents, neighborhoods and communities. It's a constant reminder that when we as individuals think beyond ourselves, we have the ability to facilitate powerful change.
Our 18th Annual United Way "Day of Caring" is September 10, 2010.
Day of Caring is a special event and wonderful occasion for donors to see their dollars at work. Volunteers team up with agencies and clients to complete hands-on projects at an agency, interact with clients, or organize an agency collection drive at their work place. Participating in Day of Caring offers volunteers a first-hand opportunity to learn about human service needs in Lorain County.
"Day of Caring is also a fun day for employees to be out in the community and work with their co-workers in a different environment," said Robbi Goodwin, Day of Caring Coordinator. "It's a win-win situation; fun for the volunteer and a big help for a non-profit organization and the clients that they serve," she said.
